Eric is currently an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Temple University, Director of the Foot and Ankle Division, and Director and Founder of Temple Global Orthopaedics. Besides his teaching and clinical duties at Temple, he founded the department’s global outreach program to Kenya, which currently provides training to Kenyan and Temple orthopaedic residents. Prior to that, he lived in Africa for 7 years, working with CURE International as the Medical Director and Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at the CURE Ethiopia Children’s Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Kijabe, Kenya, where he taught and performed life-changing surgery on thousands of children.
While in Ethiopia, Eric was one of only 2 western trained orthopaedic surgeons in a country of nearly 100 million people. He focused primarily on caring for disabled children, but as he recognized the shortage of well-trained physicians in both Kenya and Ethiopia, he was able to found successful Orthopaedic Surgery residency training programs in both countries. Prior to Africa, he was in a private Orthopaedic practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He and his wife Corinne currently reside in the Philadelphia area.
